Tamur is the best river
in the eastern part of Nepal. Originated from Mt. Kanchenjunga, it is
well fed by the snow of this incredible mountain. This river journey
combines with one of the best short Himalayan trek.
We
drive to Basantapur and picking porters we trek for next 3 days through
Rhododendron forests and sunlit meadows. The views of Kanchenjunga,
Makalu and Everest are stunning. The treks end at Dobhan, where the
three tributaries of the Tamur join their forces making the river more
powerful and continuous rapids.
From the put in point at Dobhan
to the take out point at Chatara, the Tamur surges for 270 Kilometers
taking through incredible combination of white water, scenery, villages
and sandy beaches, which make this river as one of the best river
journeys of the world.
