Mountain Biking in Ladakh
The 490 km (306 mile) expedition
from Manali to Leh (Ladakh) (or in reverse) is one of the ultimate
adventures for any experienced mountain biker.
Ladakh, situated above the Indus River at 12,000ft and isolated deep
within the Karakoram and Zangskar mountain ranges, provides the most
spectacular view and myriad mountain scenery.
Crossing the Himalayas from south to north, the route traverses four of
the world’s highest passes, including the TaglangLa at 5328-m (world's
2nd highest motor able pass).
The best season for biking is late June – July through mid – August.
