About Firante
Firante Treks & Expeditions is Kathmandu based small adventure company, specialised in designing customised adventure trips (mountain biking & trekking) in Nepal & Tibet which enable trekkers to gain rare sight into the real lives of people of the hidden Himalayas.

After having engaged with large tourism organizations more then 10 years with major responsibilities, this company Firante Treks & Expedition was established in January 2007 by a group of young professionals with the aim of exploiting socio-tourism for a sustainable world. The company provide services on regular well known routes throughout Nepal, along with creating new off-route trekking in Humla (far North West part of Nepal), the most remote district in Nepal. Firante Treks & Expedition is one of the few companies promoting tourism inside Humla creating employments to the local people. We being local people from Humla, always looking forward promoting Humla as a tourism destination.

Our mission is to provide best quality services to our valued customers as to their requirements. Our aim is to be best performer so the company has trained professional and experienced leaders both in trekking and mountain biking. We care environment, staffs, customer health & safety, local social & culture and local economy.

The company takes tourism as an opportunity to proactively protect and further develop Nepal’s rich cultural heritage and awareness, ensuring that the travel experience is meaningful for both the host and visitor. The company considers socio-tourism as its main advantage.

  • Mr. Surendra Lama ‘Smile’

    Executive Chairman of Firante Treks & Expeditions has over 13 years experience in this tourism business and has a great love of sports and adventure travel along with sense of social and environmental responsibility. Before founding Firante Treks and Expedition, he was engaged with large organizations more then 9 years holding majure responsibilities of Tour Organizer, office management and leading first time (new route) expeditions. He has been always a good travel companion and perfect tour operator. He has lead groups from all over the world throughout Tibet, India , Bhutan and Nepal.

    Born in Simikot village in Humla the remote far western Nepal and is one of the key person to promote Humla and far western as a tourism destination.


  • Pradhyumna KC:
    Tourism Consultant of Firante Treks & Expeditions, he has been promoting tourism in Nepal since 2001, he is also a Managing Director of Visit Pokhara and is promoting Pokhara as tourism destination.

  • Sonam Lama ‘Tamang’:
    A valuable partner of Firante Treks & Expeditions, he has been a guide for more than 8 years and his youthful looks would indicate that he has started his carrier into tourism so young. He was a team mate with Surendra Lama when they used to work for their past organization and now they are expert and perfect partners. He is Energetic, multi-lingual and keeps any tour running at a friendly pace and he is the one with extra value, ‘returning clients always request Sonam again’. He has been leading groups from all over the world throughout Nepal, Tibet, China, India and Bhutan. And he is experienced Trek leader, Mountain Biker, racer and expert bike mechanics. Besides his guiding job he looks after all tour opoeration and he is Operation Director of the Company.

  • Janga Bahadur Lama

    Marketing Director of Firante Treks & Expeditions, he has been working in tourism field since 1998, he has started his carrier as Hotel manager and then sifted to adventure tourism as a marketing manager in couple of reputed agencies, finally he has joined with Firante Treks & Expedition team from July 2009.

    He has leaded groups out to Tibet and Nepal, he is a trained adventure leader too.

    He is From Humla, and is also a practicing Lama with good knowledge of Buddhist history and religion.


  • Kumar Karki
    Kumar is our trekking guide plus senior cook who has been always teaching his juniors how to cook hygienic and tasty foods. He is a perfect cook, once he start cooking you can not hold yourself away from kitchen. He has been in tourism since 1995 and has lead groups throughout India, Nepal and Tibet.

  • Dak Bahadur Karki:
    He is an excellent guide and has been involve in tourism since 1997. He has lead group throughout Nepal, Tibet, India & Bhutan. He is multi adventure guide for Mountain Biking, Trekking & Tours.

  • Sarad Gurung:
    Manager of Snow land Lodge in Ghandrung and Firante Treks own this Lodge. He is a young energetic local from Ghandrung and has been in this business since 2000. He is perfect and always ready to help clients and his smiles are waiting for you.

  • Bhakta Tamang:
     A person with a real value, he is trek leader, mountain guide and has been engaged in tourism from past 14 years. he is a person to trust in every adventure.

  • Alisha Rai Limbu
    Mrs. Alisha Rai Limbu is an office secretary of Firante Treks & Expedition, she started her carrier with us since June 2008, she is a loyal and very hard working person.
