Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking
Maximum altitude: 3192 meters
Duration of Trek: 7 days mountain lodge
Grade: Easy
Poon hill, a hilltop situated at an altitude of 3192 meters is perhaps the highlight of this journey providing some excellent views of both the Annapurna Himal to the east and the Dhaulagiri Himal to the west. And the experience of sunrise views from Poon Hill has become a particular focus for trekkers.
Mainly traveling through a Gurung cultural region there are some old villages on route to be enjoyed along with lush forests of bamboo, oak and rhododendron particularly apparent in the spring.
This trek is the most popular short trek in Nepal; it provides stunning scenery and opportunities to get closer to the ways of mountain life. The lodges on the way are with good facilities, hot showers and good food.
